About
Launched in 2014, Uncrewed Systems Technology is the first ever publication to focus entirely on providing independent coverage of the engineering of uncrewed systems. Uncrewed Systems Technology has grown at an exponential rate. Continuing to be published bi-monthly, it probes the cutting-edge projects of today to provide in-depth research insights, using rigorous investigation backed by professional peer review and critical analysis.
What do we cover?
We report independently on the engineering at the heart of uncrewed systems providing unbiased commentary on full vehicles, hardware components, software programming, and other innovations and via interviews with leading engineers.
Platform One
The news section is focused on technological development. Business and politics are only covered in so far as they impact directly on engineering solutions.
From the outset the magazine has established itself as a publication that deals in hard science.
Uncrewed vehicle dossiers & digests
Each issue contains at least one main dossier and one digest offering an incredibly detailed look at a high-profile uncrewed vehicle project, revealing many secrets of the technology that are simply not reported anywhere else.
Uncrewed Systems Insights
Insights reveal the latest technological advances across all uncrewed vehicle platforms, as well as a number of specific industry applications. UAVs, UGVs, UUVs, USVs and Uncrewed Space Vehicles will all take their place in the spotlight.
Powerplant dossiers
The world of uncrewed systems has created new requirements for small internal combustion engines and electric motors, to the extent that currently there is far from agreement as to the most appropriate technical solution.
A host of different approaches are being exploited, from Wankel rotary to reciprocating, from battery electric to fuel cell and all manner of hybrids. Each powerplant dossier explores in depth one of the diverse innovative power units at the forefront of today’s uncrewed revolution.
UVIOs & USIOs
Our “vehicle & software in operation” articles detail the technology behind real-world examples of uncrewed systems in action. Covering a broad range of use cases, the reports are fascinating insights into the inner workings of active, live autonomy across the globe.
Focus articles
Revisited just once every 3 years the focus acts as an excellent source of reference on specific products and types of engineering service – topics covered include:
5G Radio, Additive Layer Manufacturing, Advanced Materials, Ancillary Engine Systems, Antenna, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Autopilots, Batteries, Cable Harnesses, Composites, Connectors, Data Storage, Design Software, Electric Motors, Embedded Computing, Engine Control Units, Fuel Cells, Gimbals, Ground Control Systems, Image sensing, IMUs, Gyros & Accelerometers, Launch Systems, LiDaR, Machine Learning, Machine Tools, Maintenance, Motion Control, Motor Controllers, Navigation System, Parachutes, Performance Monitoring, Personal Information Systems, Power Management Systems, Propellers, Radio Links & Telemetry, Real Time Operating Systems, Sense & Avoid / Radar, Servo Actuators, Simulation & Testing, Solar Power, Sonar & Acoustic Systems, Swarming, Thermal sensors, Transponders, UTM and Video Encoding.
Who are High Power Media?
Established in 2006 to publish the highly technical Race Engine Technology magazine, High Power Media was formed by specialist publisher, Simon Moss and renowned motorsport editor, Ian Bamsey.
Since then we have also published 8 Race Technology Reports, namely F1 Race Technology, 24 Hour Race Technology, Cup Race Technology, Drag Race Technology, Rally Race Technology, Race Restoration Technology, Alternative Race Technology and Motorcycle Race Technology magazines. Each one exploring the engineering of the whole vehicle within the applicable racing series.
In 2014 we launched Uncrewed Systems Technology magazine for the fast-evolving world of uncrewed vehicles and systems. Published 6-times-a-year, Uncrewed Systems Technology magazine looks at the engineering behind the market-leading uncrewed systems being developed around the globe.
Then in 2018 we launched our latest magazine, this time for the world of electric mobility. Also published 6-times-a-year, E-Mobility Engineering looks at the cutting-edge engineering behind electric and hybrid vehicles covering everything from automotive to heavy-duty off-highway, and from marine to aerospace applications, all over the world.
We strive for excellence in everything we publish from the extremely technical, detailed, accurate content to the best magazine print and paper quality.
Editorial Policy
At the core of our authoritative publications are in depth research insights that probe significant contemporary projects, with informed analysis that is backed by professor peer review and rigorous critique prior to publication. There is also comprehensive coverage of all aspects of the technology and its innovations, as well as interviews with those central to its on-going evolution. The writing is clear and concise, using plain English in the style of New Scientist. All content in print and online is designed to be readily accessible to all – you don’t need an engineering degree to understand it!
